TYLERRIDDIM: My Name is Oladimeji Taiwo a.k.a Tylerriddim. I'm from Ekiti state, Nigeria and I am an Afro-Fusion Artiste
L. SOJINI: How did you get into music?
TYLERRIDDIM: I started recording music in 2009 as a rapper and went by the stage name ‘Young Dope’ but I didn’t released any music until 2016. I was introduced to music in church while in the children's choir and I always had a thing for writing prose which later morphed into writing music.
L. SOJINI: What do you think makes good music?
Tylerriddim: Good music to me must be well written and structured but the ‘spirits’ must lead.
L. SOJINI: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a musician?
TYLERRIDDIM: My voice and my brain are my biggest strengths and doubt is the only weakness.
L. SOJINI: What are you currently working on?
TYLERRIDDIM: I just submitted a joint EP with Swizay for distribution and it should be out in a month. Currently rounding up postproduction on my debut EP, titled Short and Sweet.
L. SOJINI: How do you approach music? As in, what’s your philosophy when it comes to making music?
TYLERRIDDIM: My music doesn't have a definitive approach thanks to my versatility and the width of my imagination. My philosophy borders on chemistry and personal relationships as I make the best music with my friends.
L. SOJINI: What are you most proud of to have achieved as a musician?Â
TYLERRIDDIM: The release of my debut album Summer Riddim is still my proudest achievement cos I released the album against all odds at the time.
L. SOJINI: How do you promote your music?
TYLERRIDDIM: It used to be purely by word of mouth and social media posts. I will be using PR agencies, music marketers and influencers going forward.
L. SOJINI: Favourite musician? Why?
TYLERRIDDIM: I don’t have one really. I enjoy a lot of music from various places and of various genres.
L. SOJINI: What’s your advice or message to fellow musicians?
TYLERRIDDIM: Just keep making the music. Never stop.
