New Place, Less Time There But Memorable For A Lifetime?
I was there for less than an hour but I think of the place and experience quiet a lot.
About two to three weeks ago, I went to the other part of town I'd never been to. This was an eye-opener: life goes on in other places we don't know exist; life happens even in places we don't visit.
The place was quiet. All places are. Surely people were at work and at school. Some walked the streets. Some operated their businesses in the streets. The taxis drove through the streets.
It was lonely, at least for me. But even in silence and loneliness, there's a story to tell or learn.
People talked about going back to school and smoking.
I didn't have the whole day to spend there. In fact, I wasn't there for an hour. But it was an experience for a lifetime. I wasn't supposed to be there. Me being there speaks to mobility.
Mobility is good, but isn't mobility the source of our ills? Mobility is about people being in places they're not supposed to. Mobility speaks about domination.
