L. SOJINI: Can you tell us about yourself? Where you’re from and what kind of musician you are.
Mirko: Mirko aka Glock-9ne was born in Italy in 1993 founder of GLK Productions he is a very versatile multi-genre producer/composer, arranger, sound and graphic designer with nine years of experience in music production and graphic design.
My melodies know how to capture the listener's ear and transport him emotionally in the specific mood that the work expresses.
My knowledge of music production learned over time as a self-taught, he defines himself a natural talent associated with a good ear and a lot of passion for music born as a child.
L. SOJINI: How did you get into music?
Mirko: The first time I approached music directly was when I received flute lessons in middle school in which I had the pleasure of publicly playing solo in duets, trios, quartets great scores of Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and many more.
After a few years that i had abandoned the lessons, I began to be more attracted to electronic music until in 2013 [when] I produced my first instrumental.
L. SOJINI: What do you think makes good music?
Mirko: Mainly it is the producer's ear and knowing how to convert your emotions into music is certainly a key point that brings out good music.
L. SOJINI: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a musician?Â
My main strengths are probably the versatility and the ingenuity that I reserve behind some productions compared to others. I’m able to approach very well with the composition of melodiesor harmonies while my weak point can be composing the rhythm in some instrumentals in Trap genre.
L. SOJINI: What are you currently working on?Â
Mirko: I recently released my new summer single entitled ‘Il Tempo Delle Sirene’ entirely produced and mixed by myself.
While I’m currently working on a new production of which I have produced a customized instrumental for an upcoming single which will be released in August in collaboration with the American singer/songwriter Russel Foisy.
L. SOJINI: How do you approach music? As in, what’s your philosophy when it comes to making music?
Mirko: My philosophy is to capture the listener's ear, adding depth to each production.
My approach when I compose something new without a very specific idea is to start from improvisation while in other cases I can produce an instrumental following an audio reference or compose it starting from the vocal A cappella, this especially when I work for clients.
L. SOJINI: What are you most proud of to have achieved as a musician?
Mirko: I’m very happy over the years that I have achieved this knowledge about music so that I am now able to seamlessly handle various aspects of production without the help of a co-producer.
L. SOJINI: How do you promote your music?
Mirko:To promote my works I mainly like to use my social media Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Then I usually promote them to music blogs/magazines, radios, synch opportunities in Film/TV and playlists.
L. SOJINI: Favourite musician? Why?
Mirko: There are many. Honestly, it's hard to name one in particular. I have a lot of respect for the wonderful music and talent of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Charles Bradley.
One in particular may be Marvin Gaye for his story of how his career ended which struck me very sentimentally.
L. SOJINI: What’s your advice or message to fellow musicians?
Mirko: I speak as an artist who is experiencing poverty in the first person, for this reason I want to tell all the artists out there who are talented but in a situation of economic poverty that I know that for a person put in those conditions the difficulty doubles but to try to stay motivated and focused on what you are doing, always continuing to try various ways, collaborate by sharing rights, promote yourself on social media, look for public playlists and send to the radio.
