I Love Rock n Roll: Federico Pilia Talks About His Music, Strengths And Weaknesses
The musician is part of the Italian band, Crazy Party Project.
Federico Pilia is about the third Italian we’ve spoken to here at The Musician, which is a good thing really. Pilia is a guitarist of the band Crazy Party from Sardinia, Italy. The kid ‘always had a passion for music’, feeling comfortable around cables, computers and mixers, he says.
In 2021, five musicians, including Pilia, united to form the Crazy Party Project. In early August, the band will release its second single.
If you’re a musician and also want to be interviewed like Federico Pilia, start the process using the button below.
L. SOJINI: Can you tell us about yourself? Where you’re from and what kind of musician you are.
FEDERICO PILIA: I am guitarist and producer of a band called Crazy Party. We come from Sardinia (Italy) – more precisely Cagliari. This project was born in 2021 from the artistic fusion of 5 musicians united by the unbridled passion for 70/80s rock music.
The desire to bring the fun and the party back to a stage in full Hard Rock style, after the two years of closure, was so strong that it pushed us five.
Luca Piras (vocals) Federico Pilia (solo guitar) Alessandro Ledda (bass) Giorgio Marras (rhythm guitar) Jack Ferrara first and Sara Pintus then (drums) give life to the Crazy Party Project, a band that mixes different influences of each component in its sound, ranging from Queen to Whitesnake, from AC/DC to Deep Purple, passing through Skid Row.
The first single that anticipates the release of the album is titled ‘Crazy Party in Town’.
L. SOJINI: How did you get into music?
FEDERICO PILIA: Since I was a child I have always had a passion for music, in particular for guitar and recording systems. I liked being in the midst of cables, connectors, computers and mixers.
L. SOJINI: What do you think makes good music?
FEDERICO PILIA: I think it makes you live well.
L. SOJINI: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a musician?
My strong point is that I have an unbridled passion for all music. I am a person who works very hard to complete the project started by putting my soul into it.
FEDERICO PILIA: Unfortunately on the other hand I trust too much people who in some cases they take advantage of my availability and sensitivity, but thank God life opens our eyes giving us the possibility of not falling back with false people.
L. SOJINI: What are you currently working on?
FEDERICO PILIA: We are currently working on the recording of the second single which will be released in early August.
L. SOJINI: How do you approach music? As in, what’s your philosophy when it comes to making music?
FEDERICO PILIA: When it comes to making music, I leave it to intuition. I like to create, it gives me lightness.
With Crazy Party I have a great harmony. We get along well together. Before being musicians we are friends. We come from different experiences, but all with great musical background.
L. SOJINI: What are you most proud of to have achieved as a musician?
FEDERICO PILIA: Honestly, this is the first lineup with which I am having some satisfactions. The song with which we came out on June 28 (‘Crazy Party In Town’) is doing very well. The song was even chosen for the first episode of a program called ‘OvunqueSardi’ which will be broadcast on television on 12 September on the Videolina network which will show images of many cities including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and many others.
L. SOJINI: How do you promote your music?
FEDERICO PILIA: Over the years I have made several productions and as I go forward I assimilate more and more skills in the field of music production and promotion. This currently serves me to implement everything I have assimilated to better promote my band. Mainly I take care of Spotify lists and everything related to communication through all social media platforms.
L. SOJINI: Favourite musician? Why?
FEDERICO PILIA: My absolute favorite band is Queen. You will also notice that in the song ‘Crazy Party In Town’ there is a lot of Queen influence at the choral level. Even the singer of my band, Luca Piras, is a big fan of Queen and this one you can see right from the choruses of the piece.
L. SOJINI: What’s your advice or message to fellow musicians?
FEDERICO PILIA: My advice is always to pursue your dreams. Never give up and always believe in them, putting all possible effort into it.
L. SOJINI: Can you recommend one musician you’ve worked with that The Musician can interview next? You can share their Twitter handle.
FEDERICO PILIA: Federico Pilia: @lucapir78579144.
